The Company was incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act
1965 on 28 February 1978 as a private limited company under the name
of C.I. Holdings Sdn Bhd. It was subsequently converted to a public
company on 10 December 1982 and assumed
its present name. The Company was listed on the Main Board of Bursa
Malaysia Securities Berhad on 18 February 1983.
Business Activities
The Group’s
principal activities are focused on branded consumer products. C.I. Holdings
Berhad’s subsidiary companies are currently involved in the
manufacturing and distribution of beverages, tap ware and ceramic
sanitary ware.
Below is a
summary of the operations of CI Holdings Berhad’s main
subsidiaries:-
1) Beverages Division
- Permanis Sdn Bhd (“Permanis”)
Permanis was
incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act 1965 on
3 October 1973 and has since been primarily involved in the
manufacturing, distribution and marketing of beverages under
franchise from PepsiCo. Today, Permanis is a wholly-owned subsidiary
of CI Holdings Berhad and is one of Malaysia’s leading beverage
manufacturers and have a comprehensive network to distribute
products throughout Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.
Permanis has
presence in the majority of the segments in the beverage industry,
namely, Carbonated Soft Drinks, Isotonic Drinks, Ready to Drink
Coffee and Tea, Juice, Energy Drinks, Asian Drinks and Mineral
Water. The company also plans to penetrate new and growing segments
in the future.
Under exclusive
franchise, Permanis produces world renowned brands such as “Pepsi”,
“Mirinda”, “7-Up”,“Gatorade”, “Lipton”, Tropicana” and “Evervess”.

Permanis also
manufactures its own brand of drinks which includes beverages under
the trademarks of “Chill”, “Excel”, “Frost”, “Bleu” and “Shot”.
In the year 2000 and 2001, the plant in Bangi, Selangor was voted by
PepsiCo. Inc. as the most efficiently operated Pepsi-affiliated
plant in the world. Permanis is ISO certified 9001:2000 (Quality
Management Systems) certified.
2) Tapware Division
- Doe Industries Sdn Bhd (“Doe”)
Doe was formerly
known as Dorf Malaysia Sdn Bhd was incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act 1965 on
22 December 1977as a wholly
owned subsidiary of Dorf Industries Pte Ltd, Australia. In 1983, Doe
was acquired by C.I. Holdings Berhad.
Doe has been in
the tapware industry for more than 25 years and is currently the
leading manufacturer of chrome-plated brass tapwares and sanitary
fitting in Malaysia. Doe also operates a gravity die-casting
foundery producing brass die-castings which are then
surfaced-finished in chrome by its automatic electroplating line.
Doe offers a
variety of brands catering to various segments of the Malaysian tap
ware and sanitary fittings industry including: Ignite, Huber, Prima,
Q’Tee, Colonial, Aria, Palesa, Suva, Viva, Doe Basics, Neu, Medlab,
Estivo, Cheffline, Serengetti, Ariston

local manufacturer of tap ware Doe has built a formidable reference
list including large private and government linked developments
Doe tapwares are
manufactured under the BS 5412 standard and its products are
accredited with SIRIM ISO 9001:2000, IKRAM, as well as approved by
JKR and the State Waterworks Departments.
Being an

component manufacturers as a source of technology transfer and

Doe’s range of
tapware and sanitary fittings complements Potex’s Ceramic sanitary

The division
is primarily focused on the manufacturing, distribution and
marketing of ceramic sanitary ware. Potex offers a various
brands of ceramic sanitary ware catering to the various segments
of the sanitary ware market, including, Potex, Ascot, Carravagio
The division
comprises of 2 Division comprises two companies :-
1.Potex Sdn Bhd (“Potex”), which is the marketing arm; and
2.Potex Industries Sdn Bhd (“Potex Industries”) - the
manufacturing arm.
Potex
Industries was incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act
1965 on 26 April 1994 and changed to
its present name on 18 March 2008. The production plant is
located at Masjid Tanah, Malacca. Potex, the marketing arm, was
incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act
1965 on 21 November 2002.
On 4 February 2008, both companies became subsidiaries of Doe
Industries Sdn Bhd (36788-T).
At present,
the Division has a full complement of services that include
research and development, manufacturing and technical support of
wide range of sanitary ware products.
As a mark of
high quality, Potex Industries has been accredited with
ISO9001:2000 Quality Management System since November 2003 and
the Division’s products have been granted Certification Mark by
SIRIM for complying with MS147:2001 & MS1522:2006. Potex’s
products have also received Perbadanan Bekalan Air and Lembaga
Air Perak approvals and are also listed in IKRAM (“Senarai
Bahan-Bahan Tempatan”) as Public Work Department (“JKR”) basic
requirements.
Potex’s
Ceramic sanitary ware range compliments Doe’s range of tapware
and sanitary fittings.
